As a Prime Contractor, integrateIT resources provide project management and configuration management (CM) expertise at the United States Census Bureau. In collaboration with PMs, the integrateIT team has improved the efficiency of projects by developing enterprise processes and procedures that allow projects to execute more effectively. The integrateIT team has standardized several processes within the organization including a completely revamped Risk Management process. In addition, the integrateIT team is leading a high profile customer endeavor to refresh mobile devices in the field. This is a multi-year effort that will provide users with new mobile devices with overhauled software that will improve the efficiency by which field representatives perform mission capabilities. For this effort, the integrateIT team manages the master schedule, requirements, risks, documentation, and CM process.
The integrateIT team has been responsible for all CM activities within the organization including the creation of change management boards as well as the development of CM Plans, Configuration Control Board Charters, and other CM related documentation. Additionally, the integrateIT team has been placed in a trusted advisory role by the Government as its assists the Customer with the development of proposal materials for critical solicitations.
integrateIT resources provide systems engineering, requirements management, and application testing services to a Government customer. These services support the overall effort to develop, deliver, and maintain a new and improved database system to replace a decommissioned system. The integrateIT systems engineers support nearly 30 developers as well as designers, network specialists, and management staff. The integrateIT resources share responsibilities toward the creation of the new system and the decommissioning of the old application. The new system has more effectively tracked assets, operations, and personnel for the customer. These functional improvements have gained accountability for the user base, which is critically important as that accountability supports the customer’s adherence to a Congressional Mandate.
integrateIT resources have applied expertise in the areas of quality assurance, integration, business analysis, system administration, records management, and technical documentation. integrateIT resources work in an agile development environment, with regular deployments scheduled every four weeks. For each deployment, the integrateIT resources are responsible for test design and execution, working directly with the team’s developers to provide a deeper understanding of the scope of all requirements. In an effort to completely rebrand the old application into the new database system, the integrateIT resources are responsible for verifying and validating software functionality in relation to the application’s look and feel, interface, and database features all while maintaining the legacy database until it could be decommissioned. integrateIT resources created, maintained, and executed a vast regression bed of test scenarios in order to fully validate the system’s ability to support the web browsers currently in use within the operating environment. Test scenario creation and execution required the integrateIT resources to thoroughly analyze all business and technical requirements in order to effectively provide code coverage. integrateIT resources utilized detailed root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot bugs discovered in software integration points. integrateIT resources prepared and staged test data for use within multiple test scenarios to improve the timely execution of the regression bed.
integrateIT systems engineers completed data and records management activities as they ingested multiple legacy databases from the old application into the new database system. This was planned in order to preserve existing customer data availability without any lapse during decommissioning. This task required the creation of extensive data mapping matrices to support the logic required to ingest the legacy databases containing large volumes of data. The integrateIT resources also created and administered a SharePoint site for the application. The site provided an overview of the project and a forward outlook, and also stored documentation including meeting minutes, backlogs, sprint review materials, and steering committee documentation. integrateIT systems engineers published news and information about recently deployed enhancements, established an approval process for stakeholders to approve each release, and developed a mechanism to track new features, access FAQ materials, and enabled the submission and processing of access and training requests.
integrateIT resources conducted a business process reengineering study of the Program’s CM processes and technology solutions. After the completion of the study, integrateIT resources developed and refined the Program’s CM methodology. integrateIT resources implemented a web based issue tracking system to manage the Organization’s change requests and discrepancy reports (bugs). The integrateIT team developed several custom workflows for the issue tracking system, detailing step-by step solutions and process flows for varying types of program issues. The custom process flows simplified the CM process, streamlining the workflow and clearly identifying the responsibility matrix. By establishing the web based issue tracking system, integrateIT resources responded to a Government directive to migrate all existing Lotus Notes based CM systems into newer technology solutions.
